About the Artist

Melin an artist who finds beauty everywhere, even in little things— and captures it inside tiny, repurposed Altoids tins.

Her miniature art— all painted en plein air and photographed nicely lined up with the scenery, are absolutely the coolest thing you will see today. Much of her work captures scenes from the Pacific Northwest– from the snow-swept mountains of the cascades to the rolling wine country of Central WA.

In any case, nature is at the heart of these tiny masterpieces. Sometimes she sets out to paint a favorite scene from mountain views she grew up visiting, while other times, inspiration just strikes. That's the beauty of this portable approach to art- it allows her to paint when inspiration strikes and the time is right because she can bring her canvas with her just about anywhere.

Her emotional depth, appreciation for history and music, and her passion for championing the stories of those without a voice are all at the root of her series Music & Meaning. Without even knowing any backstory, these paintings are showstoppers. You cannot help but be pulled into them, feeling the raw, vulnerable emotions of the subject.

But look closer, and layered within the details of the painting you will see the important message behind the painting, whether a personal one- or that of someone whose story is historically overlooked.

Melin has been a highly skilled artist from a young age, winning her first award at the tender age of 15.  She is passionate about animals, the environment,  and enjoys spending time with the children in her life, introducing them to the world of artistic expression. Always an artist, Melin has a successful background in interior design, and loved getting to know people so she could better curate an aesthetic for them.  A true PNW native and a lover of all the beauty Earth has to offer, she loves hiking and exploring the great outdoors, camping, kayaking, and hot cocoa.

Have a story to tell? A landscape you want to preserve before it changes? a Place you want to see everyday? Melin is available for commissions for many kids of projects.
